This week, 4FRONT Director, Temi Mwale was interviewed by Talk Radio about the impacts of violence on mental health and the ways in which the criminal justice system contributes to the cycle of violence. She discusses how the societal mechanisms designed to address violence are themselves inflicting harm and trauma in people’s lives and why approaches which centre healing rather than punishment are crucial in order to break this cycle. She also shares how institutional racism and structural inequality drive violence and calls for accountability to start the process of change.
